FBC Youth Ministry

FBC youth ministry exists to proclaim Christ to junior high and high school students. We desire to come alongside parents to help them make disciples of Jesus Christ of their children. We also desire to come alongside students and help them to make disciples of Christ among their peers. We aim to equip students to study the Bible, to pray, to share the gospel, to defend their faith, to share their testimony, and to be discipled and to disciple.

We have Youth camps twice a year: a Fall/Summer Camp and a Winter/Spring Camp. Students enjoy time in nature learning about God from guest speakers and youth leaders as well as lots of games and activities!

The Wave

Wednesday, 6:30-8pm, Youth/ College Room.

The Wave is our Wednesday night program for both junior-high and high-school students. While we seek to keep the youth room environment fun and inviting, our deep conviction is that God uses His Word to bring people to Himself! Our passion is for young people to place their hope in Christ and be transformed into His likeness. Wednesday night is a great opportunity for students to invite their friends to hear the Gospel and to see how Christ changes lives!

Sunday, 10:30-12:00am, High School Room (meets Sept-May)

We want junior high students to enjoy getting to know each other, the youth leaders and God’s Word! We spend time together playing a game and then we dig into a Bible study in a small group format. We aim to guide the students to understand the text for themselves and to see how to apply it to their lives. We will be studying whatever the adult growth groups are studying, with some slight modifications to make sure we are teaching them how to understand the Bible for themselves. Our big goal is that each Junior High student would be a worshipper of God who ministers to others in the church and is a missionary to the world.

The Well

Sunday, 5:30-7pm, at various homes

We have growth groups for high school students in three different homes: The Kuhns, off Indian Trail, the Dionnes, on the South Hill, and FBC’s ministry center during 2nd service. Please email or call FBC to find out the specific addresses if you would like to attend. These groups are comprised of multiple groups of guys and girls with leaders for each group. The goal is to learn how to love and encourage each other, how to study the Bible, and how to live out the Bible as we follow Christ together. Each week there will be some time with everyone together studying or sharing and some time in smaller groups working on application of what we are studying and praying together. These regional groups will also focus on service projects, outreach and having fun together. We want students to experience first hand the joy of being used by God to help others know Christ and become like Him!

Youth Staff

Fridays, 6-9pm, meets every other Friday.

The youth staff meets together to encourage one another to grow in Christ and to be equipped to minister to the youth.
