Faith Bible Church E-Connection
Dear Jennifer,

I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!  Psalm 34:1-3

"What is Doctrine &
       Why is it Important?"
by Dan Jarms, Teaching Pastor

Open bible and doctrineI have a feeling you have studied doctrine.  "Doctrine" is simply specific beliefs spelled out in and developed from the Bible.  Sometimes we use titles like "The doctrine of the Trinity", but it could also be "The doctrine of repentance".  Doctrine is developed in answer to questions lilke "What does the Bible say about repentance?" It will take more than one verse to fully explore the idea.  So studying doctrine means you study many passages in Scripture.

It matters with some of our friends who may for instance have differences in belief about the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Some believe the Holy Spirit still gives divine revelation. I do not. As students of the Bible we must study it to make sure our doctrine really reflects the Bible.
Because it is really practical, whether...

"What's In a Name?"

Worship Hands Raised croppedDear ones,   It is my ongoing joy and privilege to serve you as worship pastor here at Faith Bible Church. You make it a joy to lead worship each and every Sunday, as God displays His glory through the manifold expressions of worship that I see. Some stand in reverent stillness, some raise hands in praise, some close their eyes as they gaze upon the majesty with the eyes of the heart, but all come to praise the same glorious God, the triune divinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. You encourage me every bit as much as I may try to encourage you. For your sake I try to lay aside every encumbrance and sin that so easily entangles and fix my eyes (and your eyes) on Jesus, the author and perfecter of true faith.

For a number of years now we in the worship ministry have had a very simple designation for our ministry name: FBC Worship Ministry. This simple expression sums up what we are about:....

"What's Next for Growth Groups?"
by Greg Bade, Growth Group Pastor & Elder

                                 Joshua growth group
"Dad, before I die I'm going to put a note in my mouth for Jesus!"
"Why not just put it in your hand?"
"Because the note could fall out of my hand when I die and it wouldn't get to Him.  If it's in my mouth He's sure to find it when I wake up in heaven."

Such are the thoughts occupying the mind of my seven-year old son Jonah.  He followed the above comments by stating that if you have to die to get to heaven, and if everybody wants to get to heaven, then why don't people just kill themselves so they can hurry things up!  His views on the national debt and global warming are also worth listening to.

What I love about these conversations I have with Jonah (and my other 9 kids) are the questions.

box of choloates
Who loves chocolate?  What if I told you I've found someting sweeter, better and more satisfying than a box of chocolates.  Would you be interested?

The gals I know would say "Uhhh, Yea!!!  What is it?" It's Faith Bible Church Women's Ministry.   What is Women's Ministry?  Our official purpose statement is to evangelize, equip and encourage women so they may exalt God in their daily lives.  Beyond the fancy alliteration here are some glimpses into what that looks like.

TwentySomethings
  by Logan Peabody

 Twentysomething logo
TwentySomethings is a ministry for post-college and career young adults to grow in a relationship with Christ and fellowship with each other.

TwentySomethings is essentially a growth group geared towards those who have graduated or are not in college and are looking for others in the same position in life.  If this growth group sounds like what you are looking for, you are welcome regardless of age.

We are continuing to meet through the summer, and are currently studying through the Christian Maturity Guide the elders at FBC have put together.  This fall we will resume studying the same material the other growth groups are going through.

TwentySomethings meet Wednesdays @ 7:00 in the Connections Room at FBC.  In addition to the weekly meetings we have opportunities to hang out, have fellowship, and serve each other on a regular basis.
