Stewardship Update

Fall 2026

Care Fund & Fire Relief Efforts

Generosity burst forth as quickly as the fires spread in Spokane on August 1. Gifts continue to come into the Care Fund specifically for fire relief. Some gifts have come from other churches, nearby and far away. What an honor and a sobering privilege to distribute this overflowing love and support from the body of Christ to people who are suffering in a variety of ways!

As you read in Nathan Thiry’s article about the fires, some immediate cash relief was given to affected families and individuals, some evacuated and some hosting evacuees. But we know that the long-term recovery process will be slow and costly for some, including loved ones and close neighbors of our members.

If you or someone you know have financial or spiritual needs related to fire losses, please fill out the form here. And as usual, be sure to let the church know if you have other needs or are aware of them within our Faith family.

The Care Fund has also been used over the summer to help provide preaching for Grace Bible Fellowship in Republic, WA.

Next Generation Capital Campaign

Our 2024–26 capital campaign ends December 31. While we probably won’t hit our original goal, that goal included projects that we weren’t ready for yet. God will provide what we need when it’s time!

Next Generation Facility Campaign Numbers updated September 7, 2026

What did we accomplish? Quite a bit! New carpet, flooring, and paint throughout the Education Wing; new exterior stairs; Children’s Wing bathroom; women’s bathroom refresh; kitchenette, bathrooms, and more meeting rooms upstairs.

Construction walk-through on the second floor of the Education Wing on August 24.

What did we learn? We became aware of some problems and limitations in our facility that we didn’t know about before. We discovered and cleaned up contaminated soil on the west property that we hope to sell. We learned that our people patiently endure the inconvenience of construction closures for the sake of what is coming!

What’s next? A pre-design study is underway to guide the creation of a Master Plan. Once that process is complete, another capital campaign will likely be needed. See Page 23 for more.

Should we keep giving? Capital needs aren’t going away, so your gifts to the capital fund are welcome and appreciated. However, we will not launch another campaign until further notice.

General Fund budget 2026–27

A new fiscal year began September 1 with an increase of 10.6% over last year’s budget (3% above last year’s actual giving).

By God’s grace, giving in excess of projections over the last fiscal year enabled the elders to include important future-focused items this year, such as saving for a future church plant, preparing to send the next round of global outreach partners, and incorporating long-term maintenance costs in the operating budget.

The increase in budget will also go to keep staff wages fair and aligned with nonprofit standards.
