Big idea: Keep good works in their proper place by relying on His grace. We can't boast, but we can marvel. We can't boast, but we can clarify: what we arewhat we are for...
What is the church? Who are we as members of the church? Ephesians 2 tells the story of the church, the people of God. We were dead in our trespasses, living as rebels and children of wrath; but God intervened in His great mercy and love and made us alive in Christ! All of this was by His grace. It is a massive gift given to us in Christ by grace, not by works. We are His workmanship, His creation. What is this creation that He has made? What is the church? We know we were dead and God made us alive in Christ. We know that it is all by grace. But what is our position with God now? What about the Old Testament people of God, Israel? How is the church related to Israel and the temple where God dwelt before? To this we turn now this fall of 2026 in Ephesians 2:11 through 3:21: the glory of Christ in the church!

A loving community making disciples of Jesus Christ.
