The Mystery of God's United People

Main idea: The mystery of the church is the spiritual union of Jews and Gentiles in Christ through the gospel.

Three responsibilities that should flow out of truly embracing the mystery of the church.

1. Suffer for the sake of souls
   • Acts 21:17-30a  Paul’s ministry and the false accusations
   • Acts 26:19-23  Paul is faithful to preach to the Gentiles
2. Reject prejudice and favoritism
   • Acts 10:1-11:18  Peter’s vision & ministry to Gentiles
   • Acts 15:1-29  The Jerusalem Council on Gentile inclusion
   • Galatians 2:11-14
3. Rejoice in your full participation in God’s promises
   • Redemption  shrouded in “mystery”
   • Luke 2:30-32  Salvation for all peoples, a light to Gentiles
   • Genesis 12:3 & Galatians 3:8
