A Deadly Condition

Main idea: Christian, remember your former condition so you will pursue your current commission.

  1. The Christian's former condition: D.E.A.D.
    1. Dead because of sin (Ephesians 2:1-2a)
    2. Engulfed by sinful powers (Ephesians 2:2b)
    3. Attracted to sinful living (Ephesians 2:3a)
    4. Destined for wrath (Ephesians 2:3b)
  2. The Christian's current commission: Bring life to the dead. (Ephesians 1:18-20; 2:4; 2:12b; 3:10; 4:1; 4:17-19; 5:1; 5:11)
    1. Where? To the world (Ephesians 2:2a)
    2. When? Now (Ephesians 2:2b)
    3. To whom? The sons of disobedience/the rest of mankind (Ephesians 2:3)
